Northside United Methodist Church is a Safe Sanctuary Church

Since 1996, Northside Church- A United Methodist Congregation under the leadership of Dr. Bill Burch and with the support of the Church Council and Staff implement a “Safe Sanctuary” policy in accordance with the United Methodist Church Standing Rules and Georgia Legal Code.

Northside Church- A United Methodist Congregation believes that the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of our children, youth and vulnerable adults is imperative. We must do all that we can to nurture and protect our children, youth and vulnerable adults. Our policy intends to provide a guide for that protection, as well as the protection of our adult workers (paid and volunteer) and the church. This policy is enacted to ensure that the parents, members, volunteers, and staff of Northside Church have a clear understanding of what the policies and procedures are regarding the safety of our children, youth and vulnerable adults.

The policy includes:

• background checks,

• routine training,

• two worker rule and/or floater, and

• reporting of incidents, accidents, and alleged abuse.

The leadership of Northside Church requests the cooperation of the all in our church, as they must abide by the guidelines of this policy.
